An account to see your account

Reading needs nothing. The catalogue is open, every page of it, and it stays that way. An account exists for the two things that write something down: a list you keep, and a correction you send us.

Leave that unticked and the sign-in lasts until you close your browser. Tick it and one cookie stays on this device for 30 days, holding a random string and nothing about you.

We ask each of them for one thing: a stable identifier, so we know you next time, and an email address if you let them share it. Nothing else. We never see your password and cannot post anywhere on your behalf.

Signing in sets one cookie, which holds a random string and nothing about you. What we keep, and for how long.
