• Disney Theatrical Productions attempted a third success on Broadway with a stage adaptation of Disney’s 1999 animated film Tarzan. Broadway Musicals Show By Show Seventh Edition Stanley Green Cary Ginell, p. 331
• In September 1921 George Broadhurst brought his American version of the British play Tarzan of the Apes to his theatre. The New York Times critic labeled the show "rather astonishing."
