In the wake of the Russian Revolution, a brave young woman named Anya, suffering from amnesia, joins two con men who plan to pass her off as the lost Grand Duchess Anastasia to collect a reward from the Dowager Empress in Paris. As Anya's memories slowly return during their perilous journey from St. Petersburg to Paris, she must discover whether she is truly the last Romanov — and whether love and identity can survive the turmoil of revolution.

Anastasia is a musical play with music and lyrics by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, and a book by Terrence McNally. Based on the 20th Century Fox Animation 1997 film of the same name, the musical adapts the legend of the Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna of Russia, who was rumored to have escaped and survived the execution of the Russian Imperial family.
