In 1945 Cleveland, World War II veteran Donny Novitski, a pianist struggling with PTSD, assembles a band of fellow veterans to compete in a national radio contest for the next great American swing band. He recruits Julia Trojan, the widow of his late best friend, as the group's singer, and sparks fly between them. As the band rehearses and bonds, each member confronts the trauma of war, and Donny must face the guilt…
