Though it was one of Broadway’s most popular wartime attractions, Follow the Girls is all but forgotten today. The raucous and lively show did, however, make a star of Gertrude Niesen in her only book musical, and her rendition of “I Wanna Get Married” was an authentic musical-comedy showstopper.
