Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson has always been a misfit, bouncing from school to school and unable to explain the strange things that keep happening around him. When he discovers he is actually the son of Poseidon, god of the sea, Percy is sent to Camp Half-Blood, a training ground for demigods. Accused of stealing Zeus's master lightning bolt, Percy embarks on a cross-country quest with friends Annabeth and Grover to find the bolt, clear his name, and prevent a war among the gods of Olympus.
