Young Tommy Walker witnesses his father murder his mother's lover and is told he didn't see or hear anything. The trauma renders Tommy deaf, dumb, and blind. Abused by his cousin and uncle, Tommy discovers a miraculous talent for pinball that makes him famous. When a mirror shatters his psychological prison, he is hailed as a messianic figure, but the crowds turn on him when he cannot deliver the salvation they demand.
