This Is the Army
Cunningham (photographer), United States Army Signal Corps

Having already written songs for the all-soldier show, Yip Yip Yaphank, during World War I, Irving Berlin followed up with songs for the all-soldier show, This is the Army, during World War II. The revue, put together as a benefit for the Army Emergency Relief Fund, both kidded and extolled the military life in a song-and-dance mixture of horseplay, nostalgia, and patriotism.

"Military Minstrel Show,": the show's own period marketing line.
